The Heat kicked off game one of a three-game series against the Lincoln Potters on Wednesday night. 976 fans joined the Heat for the three-hour contest at Nettleton Stadium in which Chico ultimately fought their way to an 11-7 victory.
Eight-hundred and fourteen of the Heat’s toughest fans braved a 107-degree game time temperature to watch their Heat take the field at Nettleton Stadium Wednesday night. Heading into the game, the third-place Chico Heat were only one game back from the second-place Lincoln Potters.
The force was strong for the Heat on Star Wars Night as players and fans alike were adorned in gear representing the cherished film franchise. With triple-digit temperatures infiltrating the Nett, the Heat took hold of their namesake to outlast the Pickles and record a 5-3 victory.
Coming off a dynamic sweep of the Marysville Gold Sox, the Heat looked to ride the first heat wave of Summer to victory on the season’s inaugural Aloha Friday. Even so, the deck appeared to be stacked against the Heat as the team fell to the visiting Portland Pickles 9-3.
JUNE 7, 2017 - CHICO, CA: After suffering a disappointing loss to the first place Lincoln Potters Monday night, the Heat looked to even the series out at the Nett before heading to Lincoln’s McBean Stadium for the series finale.
