CSU's Kirmura Signs With Heat

Kimura.jpgMAY 16, 2018 - CHICO, CA:  The Chico Heat have announced the addition of junior infielder Matt Kimura (Honolulu, HI), from Chico State University for the 2018 summer season. 

Matt played two season at Santa Rose Community College (2016 & 2017) prior to transferring to Chico State. As a freshman, he played in 24 games and batted .235 over 82 plate appearances as they won the 2016 California Junior College State Championship.

Last year as he was a Big 8 Conference Infielder and Defensive Player of the Year honors.  Played in 47 games and hit .273 over 208 plate appearances.  He had 48 hits, scored 29 runs and 26 RBI while having a .961 Fielding percentage in 228 chances.

He is currently majoring in business. 

He graduated from Mid-Pacific Institute where he was a member of the 2014 and 2015 Interscholastic League of Honolulu championship teams.
