Workhorse Ryan Sanchez to Return to the Heat in 2018

January 29, 2018 - Chico, CA:  The Chico Heat have announced that pitcher Ryan Sanchez, from Hawaii Pacific University will return to the Heat for the 2018 summer season.  Sanchez, from Atwater, CA is in his second year with the Sharks.

Summer 2017:    Sanchez pitched in 16 games for the Heat, starting nine.  He compiled a 6-3 record with a 3.99 ERA over 52.2 innings.  Sanchez had two games where he struck out eight hitters in six or less innings.

HPU 2017: appeared in 11 games with a total of 27 innings pitched (1-0)…….finished the year with a 6.0 ERA

Before HPU:  Played at Merced Community College … 1st Team All Central Valley Conference Pitcher as a Freshman in 2015 … 2nd Team All Central Valley Conference Pitcher in 2016 … Made 15 appearances, starting 11 games in 2016 … Went 6+ innings in six of his 11 starts in 2016 … 4-5 with a 4.06 ERA and 43 strikeouts over 71 innings … Gave up three hits and one run while striking out seven on April 2, 2016 in a complete game 2-1 victory over West Hills Coalinga …
