APRIL 11, 2018 - CHICO, CA: The Chico Heat have announced the addition of Outfielder Brandon Stewart, from UC San Diego for the 2018 summer season. Stewart, from Temecula, CA is in his first year with the Tritons after redshirting in 2017. Early this off-season the Heat also signed another UCSD player in Joe DeBaca.
After red-shirting at UCSD in 2017, Brandon played summer ball with the San Diego Waves of the Western Baseball Association (WBA) where he was selected to play in their All-Star game and participated in the 83rd National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series.
A 2016 graduate of Great Oak High School in Temecula, where he batted .274 in 110 plate appearances over 31 games and was 18-21 in stolen base attempts.
Older brother, Cody, played four years of college baseball, at UC Riverside as a freshman, Riverside City College as a sophomore and William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., as a junior and senior.
Brandon is a Psychology major.
