Heat add Third Dixie State Trailblazer to 2017 Summer Roster

Chico, CA:  The Chico Heat have announced that infielder Kade Cloward, from Dixie State University will join the Heat for the 2017 summer season.  Cloward, from South Jordan, UT is in his second year with the Trailblazers.  Cloward is the third Dixie State Trailblazer to commit to the Heat for 2017, joining catcher Jake Davison and infielder Joe Raymond.

At Dixie State 2016: Played in 13 games off the bench … finished the year hitless in four at-bats and collected two stolen bases and three runs scored.

 

At Bingham High School: Earned three varsity letters in baseball and helped lead the Miners to the Utah 5A state title as a sophomore …  was a two-time all-region and all-state selection and was named Region 3 MVP his senior season … also lettered in football and was a three-time all-region honoree and two-time first team all-state selection … helped lead the Miners to two state titles and the school’s first-ever bowl invitation in Florida as a senior.

 

Personal: Born on July 6, 1996 in South Jordan, Utah … parents are Karl and Lynnette Cloward … favorite team is the New York Yankees … also recruited by Pacific Oregon, Grinnell, UC Davis, Brown University, Salt Lake CC and Colorado Northwestern CC … currently majoring in general studies.
