Chico Heat Voted as The Best Sporting Event

Chico, CA – Thursday, October 12, 2017 The results are in and winners have been announced for the annual Chico News & Review (CN&R) “Best of Chico” awards.

Since coming back to Chico, the Heat have captured the hearts of the community. In 2016, the city of Chico rewarded the Heat by turning out in droves earning the Heat the 15th best attendance in the entire country for collegiate wood bat summer baseball. This year, the weekly CN&R publication awarded the Heat with the title of “Best Sporting Event” as voted by their readers.

The CN&R editor writes; “There’s nothing like dressing up in home-team colors and heading out to Nettleton Stadium with the family or friends for good, old-fashioned baseball. The level of play for this collegiate league has proven to be worth the price of admission.”

The Chico Heat are returning for season three in 2018 with a jam-packed schedule of games and special promotions looking to make for the best season yet. The world famous Zooperstars will be returning for their zany brand of on field entertainment as will the spectacular firework shows and several other game night promotions such as the fan favorite, Star Wars night.

“2016 and 2017 brought us many accolades” said Heat GM Hunter Hampton, “2018 will be a pivotal year for our organization as we are setting an ambitious goal to finish in the top 10 in total attendance for collegiate summer baseball.”

2018 Heat season tickets will go on sale November 13th and single game tickets will go on sale to the general public on May 7th. Visit the retail store located at 1722 Mangrove Ave in Chico or visit the website for more information.
